Plugin: serendipity_event_entrypaging

Sometimes you want your readers to have the ability to go to the next or previous articel when reading your blog. When they scroll through the timeline that is no problem. But if they're reading a single articel there is no chance to do so.

Here comes the plugin "Links to next/previous entry" (serendipity_event_entrypaging). Once installed you have several options to configurate it.

Plugin Configuration

First you can place the links to next/previous on top or bottom of the articel. You can also use smarty to place it wherever you want in your own template. When you don't name the link titles, the title of the next/previous articel will be displayed. With the last option you can toggle weather you want only articels of the same category shall be displayed as link. Thats all, save it and see the links displayed in your articel pages.

Serendipity 2.1-beta1 released

Today the Serendipity team released the first beta of the brand new version 2.1. There are several new features that can be tested by interested users.

There are some big changes in the core. Serendipity is now compatible to PHP7. Other changes and new functions are:

  • New bundled responsive themes "Timeline" and "Clean-Blog"
  • Improved usability of plugin upgrades by combining sidebar and event plugins and upgrading multiple plugins at once
  • Permission checks for the dashboard output and comments
  • Usability improvements to the media library, bulk moving support
  • The full list of changes can be found as usual in our docs/NEWS file.

All interested users are invited to test it but remember it's a beta version. Feedback should be provided at the user forum.

Welcome to AboutS9y.org

Welcome to this new blog. We will provide information, news and tips about the blog engine Serendipity (aka S9Y). We want to show you how you can use Serendipity and will present you some blogs all over the world using it.

I want to state clearly, that this is not an official site from the Serendipity project. If you're looking for the official page, go to s9y.org! If you got problems using Serendipity or have questions, try the user forum.

I'm a native german speaking person and this is the first blog I write in english. So you may find some bad english wording or grammar here. Please excuse this, I'm trying hard. :-)

Have fun.
